The soldier stands at attention. Plastic, small enough for the palm. It is already positioned for obedience, already arranged for a story it did not write. The child moves it across terrain—a table becomes a landscape, becomes a place where orders are followed. To play with soldiers is to practice hierarchy without naming it. The figure teaches submission through the act of command.
